AI and call recording

For the Front Desk voice agent kit: how it tells callers about AI and recording, and the rules built in.

Callers are told up front

Every call starts with a line like: "Hi, you've reached [Business]. I'm the virtual assistant, and this call is recorded." The business approves the exact wording.

Recording

Calls are recorded and transcribed so bookings can be checked and mistakes fixed. Some US states, including California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Washington, require every party to consent to recording. That's one reason the notice comes at the very start of the call.

Texts and outbound calls

Who processes the call

Calls run through the business's own providers: an AI voice platform (such as Retell or Vapi), the AI model and speech providers it uses, a telephony provider, and the calendar or booking tool. Each one handles data under its own terms. See our privacy policy and AI disclosure.

What it won't do

The assistant isn't for emergencies. It sticks to bookings and the business's approved answers, and when it isn't sure, it hands the call to a person.
