One shipment sheet becomes a matching Proforma Invoice, Export/Commercial Invoice and Packing List in Word, Shipping Bill values per line in INR, and a pre-shipment check that says READY or lists what to fix.
Who it is for: Small Indian exporter, merchant exporter or export manager who ships a few consignments a month and makes the invoice and packing list in Excel or Word.
Format: Claude skill pack · Version: 1.0.1 · Tested on: Python 3.13.5 (standard library only)
What it does
The shipment sheet is read as field/value rows and the items as a table (CSV, or XLSX with Shipment and Items sheets). Line amounts, totals, packages, net and gross weight and CBM from carton sizes are worked out once and used in all three documents. FOB is the invoice value less freight (CFR, CPT, CIF, CIP, DAP, DPU, DDP) and insurance (CIF, CIP), converted to INR at your exchange rate and split per line so it adds up exactly. LUT exports get the Rule 46 'under bond or letter of undertaking' endorsement and the ARN; IGST-paid exports get IGST in INR per line. The check covers required fields, IEC format and match with the GSTIN's PAN, GSTIN check digit, AD code, invoice number length (Rule 46), date order, Incoterms 2020 rule and transport mode, freight and insurance, LUT ARN and expiry, IGST slabs after 22 Sep 2025, 8-digit HS codes, units, net vs gross weight, duplicate lines, SWIFT format and port of loading.
What you need
- Claude.ai with code execution switched on (or Claude Code, or just Python 3.10+)
- Your shipment details, IEC, GSTIN, AD code, and LUT ARN or IGST rates
- The CBIC customs exchange rate for the invoice date
5-minute setup
- Claude.ai: open Settings → Capabilities → Skills, click Upload skill and pick
claude-ai-upload/export-doc-pack-pro.zip. - Claude Code: copy the folder
skills/export-doc-pack-prointo~/.claude/skills/. - Start a new chat. Attach your file and say: "Use export-doc-pack-pro. Make the proforma, export invoice and packing list for this order to Hamburg, CIF, under LUT, and check everything first".
- Claude runs the script and gives you the files listed under Outputs. Check them before you act on them.
Try it with the sample
Run the sample (a fictional CIF Hamburg shipment of cotton home textiles under LUT):
python3 skills/export-doc-pack-pro/scripts/core.py --shipment samples/shipment.csv --items samples/items.csv --out out
You should see READY with 0 fails: EUR 8,260.00 CIF, FOB EUR 7,815.00 (INR 7,53,366.00), 55 cartons, 960 kg net, 1,040 kg gross and 5.095 CBM. The sample's party names, GSTIN, bank and HS codes are illustrative; confirm real HS codes with your CHA or the ITC-HS schedule. In Claude, attach your sheet and use the prompt above.

AI disclosure and limits
This product does not call an AI model at run time. It was built by Oarsman AI's AI agents and checked by the automated tests shipped with it.
Limits: - Proforma, export/commercial invoice and packing list only; no certificate of origin, bill of lading, shipping bill filing or e-invoice/IRN. - Exchange rate is what you enter (use the CBIC notified rate); nothing is fetched. - Does not choose HS codes, check duty drawback or RoDTEP rates, or check licences for restricted goods. - One shipment per run; up to 500 item lines. - Document preparation, not legal or tax advice; your CHA or forwarder checks before filing.
Not tested by us: - opening the .docx in Microsoft Word itself (checked in LibreOffice) - XLSX input in the shipped tests (CSV only) - acceptance by a specific bank, customs station or buyer
