Shopping Feed Auditor: setup guide

Every product in your feed (up to 500) checked before upload, with each problem, its severity and the fix.

Who it is for: Owner or marketer of a small online store (Shopify, WooCommerce or similar) who uploads a product feed for shopping ads and free listings.

What it does

It finds the attribute header, then checks each product: required attributes, duplicate ids, title and description limits, promotional or all-caps titles, price and sale price format (number plus currency code), availability values, GTIN length and check digit, the gtin or brand plus mpn rule, https links and condition values. Errors are listed before warnings, each with the fix.

What you need

  • Claude.ai with code execution switched on (or Claude Code, or just Python 3.10+)
  • Your product feed exported as CSV, TSV or Excel

5-minute setup

  1. Claude.ai: open Settings → Capabilities → Skills, click Upload skill and pick claude-ai-upload/shopping-feed-auditor.zip.
  2. Claude Code: copy the folder skills/shopping-feed-auditor into ~/.claude/skills/.
  3. Start a new chat. Attach your file and say: "Use shopping-feed-auditor. Check this product feed before I upload it and tell me what to fix first".
  4. Claude runs the script and gives you the files listed under Outputs. Check them before you act on them.

Try it with the sample

Run the sample (a fictional 7-product feed):

python3 skills/shopping-feed-auditor/scripts/core.py samples/feed.tsv --out out

You should see 3 clean products, a duplicate id, a bad GTIN check digit, a sale price above the price, 'in stock' spelled wrong and a price with no currency.
