Claude Skills and agent skills

This hub collects our guides on Claude Skills and the open Agent Skills format: what a skill is, how Claude decides to load one, how to install skills in Claude Code, claude.ai and the API, and when a skill is the right tool compared with MCP, a Project or a subagent. We build and test skill packs ourselves, so the guides include what we learned from doing that, such as keeping instructions short, putting fiddly logic in scripts, and testing a skill against real files before trusting it. We say which products are ours wherever we mention them. Facts about plans, limits and features come from Anthropic's own documentation, linked in each guide, and every guide shows the date we last checked it, because this area changes quickly. Treat any skill you download, including ours, like code: read the SKILL.md and scripts before you run them.
