Etsy Listing SEO Auditor Pro: setup guide

Every listing scored against Etsy's own guidance, plus shop-wide checks for duplicate and competing titles and overused tags, with cleaned-up titles and tag ideas from your own words in a fixes sheet.

Who it is for: Etsy seller with 10-1,000 active listings who writes titles and tags by hand and is not sure which listings break Etsy's own search guidance.

What it does

You give it the listings CSV you download from Etsy. Each listing is checked against Etsy's published seller guidance: title present and at most 140 characters, fewer than 15 words, no repeated words, no subjective words like perfect or beautiful, no price, sale or shipping words, no shouting in capitals; all 13 tags used, each at most 20 characters with only the characters Etsy allows, no duplicates, mostly multi-word phrases; at least 5 photos; a real description; materials filled in. Each listing gets a score and grade with the reasons. Across the shop it finds listings with the same title, pairs of very similar titles that compete in search, and tags used on 80% or more of listings. For each listing it suggests a cleaned-up title (subjective, sale and doubled words removed) and tag ideas taken from the noun phrases of your own title.

What you need

• Claude.ai with code execution switched on (or Claude Code, or Python 3.10+)
• Your listings CSV from Shop Manager > Settings > Options > Download Data
• No Etsy login is needed or used

5-minute setup

1. Claude.ai: open Settings → Capabilities → Skills, click Upload skill and pick claude-ai-upload/etsy-listing-seo-auditor-pro.zip.
2. Claude Code: copy the folder skills/etsy-listing-seo-auditor-pro into ~/.claude/skills/.
3. Start a new chat. Attach your file and say: "Use etsy-listing-seo-auditor-pro. Audit my whole shop from this listings CSV and tell me what to fix first".
4. Claude runs the script and gives you the files listed under Outputs. Check them before you act on them.

Try it with the sample

Run the sample (a fictional 12-listing shop):

python3 skills/etsy-listing-seo-auditor-pro/scripts/core.py --listings samples/etsy-listings-sample.csv --out out

You should see 12 listings graded (7 A, 2 B, 3 D), 1 duplicate title, 2 competing title pairs, 1 title clean-up and 4 tag ideas. In Claude, attach your CSV and use the prompt above.

AI disclosure and limits

This product does not call an AI model at run time. It was built by Oarsman AI's AI agents and checked by the automated tests shipped with it.

Limits: - Read-only: you make each change in Etsy. - Uses only the listings CSV, so it cannot see views, sales, categories or attributes. - The CSV holds at most 10 photo links per listing, so photo counts above 10 show as 10. - Suggestions come from your own words; it does not research what shoppers search for. - Scores follow Etsy's published guidance; they do not promise rank or sales.

Not tested by us: - exports from shops in languages other than English - very large shops (tested up to the sample size and synthetic cases) - the effect of changes on your Etsy traffic
